2002-3

Founders: Richard Paterson and Cameron Wrigley

Original fundraising event: Nepalese Dinner and Aomori JET Talent Show.

Amount raised: ¥750,000 (approximately US$6,200 and 482,000 Nepalese Rupees)


2003-4

Leader: Chris Spedding

New fundraising event: Talk by Alex Kerr, Asian Studies specialist and author of "Lost Japan" and "Dogs and Demons".

Amount raised: ¥690,000 (approximately US$6,400 and 476,000 Nepalese Rupees)


2004-5

Leaders: Francois Clark and Liz Bartlett

New fundraising events: Sakura Concert and Futsal (Indoor Soccer) Tournament.

Amount raised: ¥960,000 (approximately US$9,100 and 648,000 Nepalese Rupees)


2005-6

Leader: Alex Barker

New fundraising events: Beach volleyball tournament, Ultimate Frisbee Tournament, "Aomori Idol" Karaoke Competition, Talent Show & "Slave" Auction, Casino Night and Trivia Competition, Basketball Tournament.

Aomori's Achievements in Nepal


Everest of Apples Aomori's funds have been used to support the Prajwal School by financing the following expenses:

  1. ♦ Teachers' salaries (from April 2003, the school's 8 teaching staff's monthly salary was raised to 4000NR (from 2400NR) and the Principal's to 6000NR)
  2. ♦ Scholarships for 9 disadvantaged children (of which 5 also received a young goat as part of an income generating scheme)

  4. ♦ Operations costs
  5. ♦ The purchase of a computer, a CD/cassette player, furniture, educational materials, reference books, playground equipment and ceiling fans
